WP3 Rough Draft: Bibliography

Dear Professor Han,               My name is David Cucinotta, a first-year PennState Abington student, and one of the biggest fans of your research in gender wage equality in the business field. I am looking to begin an ACURA project based off your research, as well as similar research, on how males and females are paid unequally in the business discipline. Finding a solution to this problem is something I’d love to find, especially with a professor with prestigious ranking such as yourself. I would appreciate a response on this matter as soon as possible, and the latest I can receive an acceptance of your dedication towards this ACURA project is December 1 st . Thank you for taking your time reading this request, and thank you for your rigorous research in this delicate area of the business discipline.             Overall, most of those who gave feedback on my WP2 believed that my ACURA project topic was a great idea, but needed some refining. The topic of the gender wage gap is a very broad topic and can easily be refined. Besides that, those who reviewed my presentation believed that I was on the right path in making my ACURA project the best it can be.  Research Question: Is there a gap in wages between genders prominently in the business discipline? 7 Scholarly articles:  Gupta, Vishal, et al. “Do Women Ceos Face Greater Shareholde Activism Compared To Male Ceos.” Grading Global Boards of Directors on Cybersecurity , corpgov.law.harvard.edu/2017/11/07/do-women-ceos-face-greater-shareholder-activism-compared-to-male-ceos-a-role-congruity-perspective/#more-102583.  Aizer, Anna. She wrote about the fact that there are factors which change a company based on the gender of the CEO, and she questions if women face more judgement or hardship when they have a CEO position. My second article discusses the variables that may have something to do with wage gaps such as average hours worked per year, how effect each gender is at spec

Elevator Pitch

Professor Han, funny to meet you here, do you have a minute? My name's David Cucinotta, and I am a huge fan of your research in gender research in the business discipline. I just wanted to talk with you about an important topic, which affects you, as well as myself. Wage gaps. Weather that gap be due to sex, age, culture, or race - it needs to be discussed. In the business discipline, the possibility of a gender wage gap is a large controversial topic discussed by many scholarly researchers. Hours upon hours of research and surveys have been conducted to answer the question which is still unanswered: Is there a wage gap between genders. I come to you wishing to build upon your personal research on the matter, and to truly come to a definitive answer. One of your various scholarly articles " Do Women CEOs Face Greater Shareholder Activism Compared to Male CEOs?" presents great factual evidence to argue both sides of this topic. I believe that if more effort was to be put i

Research Questions: Do women make the same salary as men do, on average, in the business field? Is there any proof and or factual research that backs up this claim? Why is the business field, specifically, so important to have an equal platform among both sexes? Is there a different level of production that comes from female or male run businesses? Does the sex of the CEO have any financial effect on that business? PB2A Part 1 & 2

The discipline I selected for WP2 is Business. A concept that a researcher at Penn State Abington studies in this field is the topic of gender wage gaps. This professor, Seonghee Han, is one of the professors who study in this aspect of business. In the business field, the question of if there is a wage gap between genders is recently a very popular topic. The reason I find this intriguing is that there are several instances where female business employees are paid differently than men employees, but if this difference in pay have anything to do with their sex. To me, it seems almost impossible to be able to measure this in detail, purely because there are so many variables that affect how a person is paid in a specific field, especially the business field. If I had to devote a long time studying in this field, I would devote that time to uncovering facts and falsities among this specific controversy.
